Q: What made you want to try CrossFit?
A: I was brought up in a sports-oriented environment where I developed a competitive mindset and strong affiliation with team and community. Playing sports growing up also influenced me to seek out physical challenges and progression. At an early age I found myself going to the gym regularly playing soccer and training for boxing through high school and into college.
As I hit my late 20’s I got away from regularly working out, training, playing sports and found myself spending most of my time working and being boggled down by typical life stressors.
My wife and I decided to make a lifestyle change after years of physical neglect and try something new, at least for me, that would combine community, physical training, competition, etc. all into one. So, she found CrossFit Revival and we never looked back.
Q: Why CrossFit Revival rather than your previous training?
A: It is very hard for me to stay motivated training in a traditional gym. Although “globo” gyms can be rewarding to an extent, I find it difficult to push myself. So much more than that though, CrossFit Revival delivers all the physical benefits of CrossFit; constantly varied functional movement performed at high intensity, to build strength, burn fat, increase cardiovascular performance and capacity, improve overall wellbeing etc. All-the-while wrapping you into the community of CrossFit and the Family that is Revival. This community fulfils something so much more than just a place to work out. It also helps keep you inspired to push yourself as your peers are doing the same thing. It is a highly uplifting and positive environment.
Q: What are your goals going forward?
A: I would like to say my goals going forward are to start competing in CrossFit more regularly. Regardless of when that happens though, they really are just too constantly improve class by class in the skills and movements, weightlifting, gymnastics and cardio. I want to constantly improve my health and fitness in many ways and CrossFit provides you the vehicle to do so. The regular progression is also a great way to keep yourself motivated.
Q: What keeps you coming back to CrossFit Revival?
A: I don’t want to overstate this but the Community certainly, the atmosphere, the coaches, the owner his wife and their family and the members are all truly great people, also it is the best gym and training environment around.
